The definition of success is “to accomplish an aim or purpose.” Everyone should have a chance to do that. I was so happy to teach my first manners lesson through Capitol Manners at The Tidewater School. My daughter Grace went to preschool and kindergarten at The Tidewater School. I have always thought it has great instructors, environment, and Montessori program that instilled in her the power of politeness, courtesy, and confidence, which I hope will lead to success in life. I want that for all children, and all my neighbors and colleagues in Southern Maryland. That is why I am proud to be the owner of Capitol Manners, Calvert County, Maryland's only school of modern manners and entertaining.
Capitol Manners provides exclusive and private etiquette classes and event planning for individuals, groups, schools, companies and clubs in Southern Maryland. We provide one-one-one lessons for kids, teens, caregivers and nannies, refresher courses for adults and customized counseling for companies and busy professionals on entertaining, business protocol and customer relations.
At the Tidewater School, I taught the children the importance of good posture and eye contact, how to shake hands, to make small talk, to introduce themselves and an adult. They were already experts on how to say "please" and "thank you." To those sweet children who helped me kick off this new venture and taught me the first lesson of success, we all should remember - to be grateful. Thank you!
